Show Notes:
– This was the first time ever that the band played ‘Don’t Change’ (INXS cover) live. The live version differs vastly from the studio version by having a totally different instrumental with all band members playing their respective instruments.
– Starting with this show, ‘Gold Cobra’ was dropped for the rest of the tour.
– Wes and John jammed the bridge and intro of ‘Master Of Puppets’ by Metallica before Fred made a shoutout to Scooter Ward from Cold who watched the show from Wes’ side of the stage. After that ‘Hot Dog’ was played.
– ‘9 Teen 90 Nine’ returned to the setlist for this show, with Fred saying they would play it only at this show. However the band played the song at the show in Norfolk and the following show in Loveland as well.
– DJ Lethal played the following interludes over the PA at this show: ‘Rawhide’ in A (originally by Frankie Laine, performed by The Blues Brothers) and ‘…Baby One More Time’ by Britney Spears (after ‘Rollin’ (Air Raid Vehicle)’), ‘Insane In The Brain’ by Cypress Hill (after ‘9 Teen 90 Nine’), ‘Party Up (Up In Here) by DMX, ‘Walk’ by Pantera (after ‘Livin’ It Up’) and ‘Hip Hop Hooray’ by Naughty By Nature (after ‘Livin’ It Up’) ‘Careless Whisper’ by George Michael (after ‘Full Nelson’). Fred made the people in the crowd slow dance with each other for ‘Careless Whisper’ while he danced with his wife Arles.
– ‘Re-Arranged’ was played until the bridge and blended into the intro kick in of ‘Boiler’.
– ‘Nookie’ was played until the second chorus and went straight into ‘Full Nelson’ for which Fred brought up a fan called Scott to join him on vocals for the song. After that Fred invited him to sit on the dad recliner. Later during ‘Take A Look Around’ he let him sing a line during the second verse.
– After ‘Take A Look Around’ the band invited all opening bands on stage and the bands’ road crew to fake a goodbye including the ‘Saturday Night Live’ outro playing over the PA. Once everyone arrived on stage and “said” their goodbyes, Fred reveals that they “forgot” one song which follows in Wes starting ‘Break Stuff’ and the band playing the song straight.
Other Notes:
– The band played several cities in the Kansas City area, but this was the first time that the band played in Independence.
– Scooter Ward from Cold was in attendance.
